Last weekend Amanda and I stopped at Chapters to browse, and she found me this great book in the bargain section!
This book has a review of every single Doctor Who episode from the first episode back in November of 1963 to the end of Season 5 of the new series in June 2010.
For each season, it list the basic crew information as well as which Doctor, and who his companions are for that season. It then lists all of the episodes with the cast of each one, the original broadcast dates, a short description (or Precis as they call it), the authors observations of the episode and his verdict and overall rating. You would think that it would be a very long book listing all of the episodes, but it’s not a standard episode like we’re used to these days. Each episode was more of a story line, and consisted of multiple parts (anywhere from 2-10, but mostly 4 parts).
It also lists all specials, audio stories, books, and spin-offs. There is also a list of all of the missing episodes, which were all from the first and second Doctors.
It’s definitely a handy guide for fans of the show, and is going to help me on my quest to watch every episode.
