This weekend is Amanda and mines first wedding anniversarry! To celebrate, we decided to come back to Montreal, where we came one year ago! We’re not staying in the same hotel as last time, in fact we’re not even staying in the same part of town.
Last year when we came, the Biodome, Insectarium and Botanical Gardens were all shut down due to a strike. So this year we checked it out, and they are open again, so we have picked a hotel close to them, and that is all we have really planned for the weekend.
Amanda took the day off work, and I worked late last night, so I asked to get off at 3. Amanda had everything packed up by the time I got home, so all I had to do was get changed and put together a few last minute things. Then we began our trip! Driving was fine, and there were no traffic problems for the first bit. Shortly after crossin g the border, we stopped for a break at Timmy’s. Then we continued on, and got caught in the traffic on HWY 40. It wasn’t super bad, and it was moving the whole time, so we weren’t caught in it long.
It then took a couple wrong turns before we found the hotel and got checked in. We asked at the front desk where some good places to eat were, and they suggested Baton Rouge just up the street. So we got changed and made our way over tot he restaurant. We enjoyed a great meal (Amanda got prime rib and I got ribs). After that we walked around the mall for a short time, then made our way back to the hotel.
Tomorrow we will check out the Biodome, Insectarium and the Botanical Gardens!
